About Dr Riley:
You don’t have to carry this all on your own.
Healing begins when people feel seen, understood, and safe. Dr. Julie A. Riley, PhD, LCSW-R, is a licensed clinical social worker, Florida Qualified Clinical Supervisor, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, educator, and trauma specialist with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her work is grounded in EMDR therapy, attachment and relational healing, nervous system regulation, and understanding how early experiences shape the patterns and beliefs that influence both personal well-being and professional success.
Dr. Riley is passionate about helping leaders, healthcare professionals, first responders, educators, therapists, executives, and other high-achieving individuals who carry significant responsibility for others. She understands the hidden burdens of leadership—including chronic stress, burnout, perfectionism, compassion fatigue, and the pressure to continually perform. Through therapy, consultation, education, and training, she helps individuals build resilience, strengthen boundaries, improve emotional regulation, and lead with greater clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
As founder of The Center for EMDR & Trauma Recovery, Dr. Riley’s mission is to provide evidence-based, compassionate care that helps people heal deeply, reconnect with themselves, and thrive both personally and professionally.
Being here doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re strong.
I want you to know that reaching out for support takes courage. Many of the people I work with are leaders, helpers, caregivers, and high-achieving professionals who have spent years carrying responsibility for others while putting their own needs aside. You may be successful on the outside and still feel overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or stuck inside.
Healing is not about fixing what is broken—it is about understanding your story, reconnecting with yourself, and creating new patterns that allow you to move forward with greater peace, resilience, and authenticity. You do not have to carry everything alone. There is strength in slowing down, becoming curious about your experiences, and allowing yourself the same compassion you so freely give to others.
I believe healing happens in relationships where you feel safe, seen, and understood. My hope is to provide that space for you.

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that that healing happens when people feel safe, seen, understood, and empowered to create lasting change.
Many people come to therapy after years of pushing through, coping, performing, or simply surviving. They have learned to manage stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, or painful experiences—but managing is not the same as healing.
My approach goes beyond symptom reduction. Together, we explore the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while creating safety for your nervous system to heal. I believe many of our struggles make sense in the context of our stories, and understanding those roots can create meaningful and lasting change.
Through trauma-informed care, EMDR therapy, relational healing, and evidence-based approaches, my goal is to help you move beyond survival mode toward greater resilience, self-awareness, connection, and peace. Healing is not about becoming someone new—it is about reconnecting with who you were before stress, trauma, burnout, or painful experiences convinced you otherwise.
Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, leadership stress, caregiving fatigue, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the weight of carrying so much for others, you do not have to do it alone.
Therapy with me is…
-
Your experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. Therapy is tailored to your story, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
-
Therapy is a space for truth—without judgment. Together, we explore patterns, beliefs, and experiences with curiosity and compassion.
-
Healing is not only about feeling better—it’s about creating meaningful change in how you see yourself, relate to others, and move through life.
-
We go beyond symptom management to understand the roots of your struggles and create lasting healing.
